"No" they are not same because Moissanite is made of silicon carbide , whereas cubic zirconia is made of zirconium dioxide. Moissanite are generally harder at 9.25 on a 10 point scale whereas cubic zirconia is 8.5 on the hardness scale.

Cubic zirconia or American diamond is just a piece of glass which has no shine like a diamond forever.
